The traffic was so bad it took us almost an hour to get home. Min and Jayden were waiting for me on the doorstep and neither of them looked very happy. From the muffled sound coming from Min’s pocket I had a feeling Pan wasn’t happy, either.

“Sorry, guys,” said Mum. “Eric was held up at school. You’ve not been here long, have you?”

They both shook their heads but I suspected from the glares I was getting that that probably wasn’t true.

“Do you mind if I skip dinner, Mum?” I asked as she opened the front door. “I’m still full from all those sweets.”

Mum sighed. “OK, but you’re having something proper to eat later.”

“Sweets? Where have you been?” asked Jayden, once Mum was inside. He had a panicked look on his face.

“I got stuck at school,” I said, not wanting to go into it. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s Toby,” said Pan, popping his head out of Min’s pocket. “He’s gone over to Bramble Park to start filming with his friends.”

“Filming?” I repeated. “As in our movie?”

They all nodded.

I could feel my blood starting to boil. “Let’s go,” I said.
